Here is what people are saying about the Conservation Garden Park:
"Thank you for teaching us how to save water. Thank you for showing us the gardens. We enjoyed seeing the flowers and learning how to plant to save water. We are happy to learn how to save our environment.”
~ Your 2nd grade friends, McAllister & Schilder’s classes
“I'm a Master Gardener and will be volunteering at this beautiful garden this year and am thrilled. My husband and I have come there over the years and watched you evolve. Many planes in our landscape are there because of watching how yours grow. We love JVWCD, thank you for all you do for everyone.”
~ Cindy M.
“We are having our front yard relandscaped with waterwise plants (the website for the Conservation Garden Park has been invaluable!) and will be using a drip irrigation system... I should note that our front yard is tiny. We are in a PUD... that uses massive amounts of water, and we hope that our small project will encourage the HOA and our neighbors to make changes, too. Thank you very much for your help!”
~ Johanna W.
“There’s an increased awareness of customers asking for plants by name that they saw in the Conservation Garden Park. And they’re so excited about the possibilities.”
~ LaRene Bautner, Millcreek Gardens
“I got the idea to change my landscape from visiting the Conservation Garden Park. I changed my front and back yards to waterwise landscapes and I’ve only had to weed twice this year, probably for a total of two hours. Compare that with the hours you spend mowing and trimming, and you save so much time! I plan to continue adding waterwise elements to my yard over time.”
~ Linda M.
“My husband and I have been to the Garden on a number of occasions and have been inspired by the wonderful plants being used to demonstrate how beautiful a waterwise garden can be. We intend to begin renovating our yard with some of the plant selections we’ve been attracted to. I look forward to spring when the Garden will begin blooming again and fully intend to stop by during the winter to see how the Garden looks out of season.”
~ Yvonne G.
“Kudos on your organization’s demonstration garden! I have been to the Garden a couple of times, and I found it to be a wonderful resource when planning my front yard. My yard is slowly turning into a green oasis as the plants fill in, and most of them are xeric. Neighbors have stopped by to photograph it and have asked a lot of questions. It’s great to see that my yard is now helping to show that waterwise landscapes can be lush and green all summer long—without taxing our limited water resources. We need the inspiration that your organization provides!”
